Most people I know who go to meetings and conferences tell me that often the most informative and best bit is the chat they have in between the formal events: chatting over coffee, in the lunch queue and so on. The electronic equivalent is a mailing list, and on this page you can join the mailing list for the Mothers' Union in the Diocese of York. There is also an option to leave the list, though naturally I hope you will find the conversations so stimulating that you won't want to!
A mailing list is a two-way communication. That means that anything you post to the list will be read by all the other members, and that a copy of everything which other members write to the list will be sent to your email address. You don't have to write messages to the list, but you will receive them. Because of this, there are some guidelines which you should read before joining.
